From Play to Progress:  Integrating Slime into Adlerian Play Therapy

Learn to use slime in play therapy techniques to assess the Crucial Cs with clients.

Description

Are you hesitant to use slime in play therapy sessions? Come be an apprentice to the “Slime Doctor.”

This experiential workshop focuses on using slime as a dynamic tool in Adlerian play therapy to promote the development of the Crucial Cs: Connection, Capable, Count, and Courage. We will delve into the theoretical underpinnings of Adlerian play therapy, learning how to use specific play therapy techniques to assess a client’s Crucial Cs.  Even more important, we will explore how to be purposeful when using slime in play therapy sessions. Through interactive exercises, we will "play with" how to use slime to facilitate emotional regulation, promote self-expression, and empower children to develop social and coping skills. The training will also highlight how to incorporate culturally sensitive practices into play therapy, ensuring that interventions are respectful and responsive to children’s cultural backgrounds.  The training will also cover strategies for collaborating with caregivers to reinforce therapeutic gains at home.
