First Glances and Hidden Dances: Exploring Daydreams, Fantasies, and First Impressions in Relationship Dynamics
This workshop explores how our daydreams, crushes, and early impressions influence our approach to love and connection, using Adlerian principles to help participants understand how these elements shape relational goals and identity, and providing practical tools for assisting clients in reexamining and rewriting their narratives about love.
Description
Our daydreams, crushes, and early impressions are more than whimsical memories—they often reveal how we approach the life task of love and connection. This workshop takes a deep dive into how fantasies and first impressions shape our relational goals, identity, and the ways we try to belong. Using Adlerian principles, participants will explore how initial attractions and imagined relationships reflect core values, mistaken beliefs, and adaptive strategies. With demonstrations and hands-on tools, you’ll leave with concrete ways to help clients examine the stories they’ve told themselves about love—and rewrite the ones that no longer serve them.
