Bibliotherapy: Using Books in Play Therapy

Learn more about a plethora of children’s books with activities you can use in play therapy.

Description

In this fun and experiential class, you will get many ideas about a variety of children’s books you can use in your play therapy sessions. We will provide you with specific play therapy interventions for using each book we introduce. You can use these when you are building a relationship with clients, exploring clients’ interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics, helping clients gain insight into their issues, and helping clients learn new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.  As part of the class, you will get a play therapy resource with the following elements described for each book presented: age range for the book, short description of the contents of the book, therapeutic objectives for each of the 4 phases of therapy, several play therapy interventions you can use in conjunction with the book to meet each of those therapeutic objectives.

Due to COVID-19 health concerns, this one-time online event has been approved by APT for 4 CONTACT CE Hours.
