Are you hesitant to use slime in play therapy sessions? Come be an apprentice to the “Slime Doctor.” In this experiential workshop, you will learn to identify the four Crucial Cs, Courage, Capable, Count, Connect in play therapy. We will review play therapy case examples to identify client mastery of each of the Crucial Cs and explore other aspects of a client’s lifestyle. You will be able to demonstrate how to use specific play therapy techniques to assess a client’s Crucial Cs. Even more important, you will explore how to be purposeful when using slime in play therapy sessions.

Required Materials:
2 Bowls
Spoon
At least two 4 oz bottles of School Glue
A bottle of all-purpose contact solution or slime solution (NO BORAX)
1 box of baking soda
Food coloring (optional)
Shaving Cream (optional – men’s regular)
Fat Markers (optional)
Glitter (optional)
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1) Describe the four Crucial Cs.
2) Describe at least four therapeutic powers of play using slime as a therapeutic play therapy technique.
3) Explain how to assess the client’s mastery of each of the Crucial Cs using slime.
4) Explain how to adapt at least two play therapy techniques to assess Count, Courage, Connect and Capable.
