Do you tend to get lost after the third phase of AdPT? Are you often stuck in the metaphor with the child and unsure how to reorient the child towards a positive view of self, others, and the world? If so, this workshop is for you! In this online, interactive workshop, the instructors will use discussion, encouragement, videos, and role playing to help you refine your skills so that you will be able to use play therapy skills and techniques to reorient the child towards a positive worldview. This refresher course will focus solely on PHASE IV of AdPT to further hone your skills and techniques when providing support for children developing more helpful ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. The instructors will provide tips for effectively implementing techniques such as modeling, teaching, role-playing, and metacommunication during this phase in the play therapy process. Attendees will learn effective strategies and techniques for playfully engaging with the child during Phase IV of AdPT.

Objectives
- Describe the concept of reorientation/reeducation in Phase IV of AdPT.
- Describe and demonstrate 2 Adlerian play therapy skills used in the reeducation/reorientation phase for teaching the child new patterns of feeling, thinking, and/or behaving.
- List and describe at least 1 Adlerian play therapy technique used in the reeducation/reorientation phase for teaching the child new patterns of feeling, thinking, and/or behaving.
- Define the relationship between the phases and the degree of therapist directiveness in Adlerian play therapy.
- Explain the importance of capitalizing on cultural opportunities with the play therapy client when in the reorientation/reeducation phase.
